This trip was redeemed through American Airlines Advantage and enhanced through Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status. This post is one chapter on our trip to Portugal, the United Kingdom (England and Norther Ireland) and Ireland. How would the carrier fare compared to other short flights in Europe, and would the carrier offer an Irish travel experience ? We would get the opportunity to test them out today with a short hop from London Heathrow over to Dublin, Ireland in order to start our Ireland experience. While it has established itself as a connecting partner for flights to and from Europe through it’s hub in Dublin, Ireland, it’s not typically a carrier that I regularly get the opportunity to travel. Save your pennies and fly a proper airline who aren't just "winging it" by the seat of their pants.Aer Lingus is the flag carrier of the Republic of Ireland. Just like to say a huge thanks to Air Lingus, for absolutely crapping on my journey to JFK. The landing was so hard that I headbutted the seat in front of me because that was the only thing to look at (see note entitled "flight"). Well Air Lingus said "hold my beer Michael O'leary, we will show you how to not land a plane" Despite it being near perfect VFR at JFK with zero wind, the aircraft was flown by hand and eye by a pilot who clearly got his wings from a cornflakes packet. Landing: have you ever flown Ryanair? If so you know what a bad landing is. You just sit there bored out of your mind looking at the seat infront. Oh and then they run out of drink mid way through the flight so the fact you can't look out the window or access the stupid app, isn't enough. Flight: if you get row 25 then you'll be in a coffin, no windows, not nothing. Check in: Computer crashed, took over 50 mins, despite the fact we had already checked in online - class, thanks.
